While I agree with you completely, how do you remove interruptions from the workplace? How do you get buy in from everyone in the company? What if there is a client emergency?
Removing interruptions completely, isn’t easy. In our company, we’ve recently introduced little orange pylons which people can place on their desk when they don’t want to be disturbed. We can also set our internal Instant Messaging service to ‘do not disturb’. With regards to emergencies, we find that there is rarely a true client emergency which has to be dealt with in under an hour.
